Boko Haram's capacity significantly diminished, leaving the group severely weakened, according to Federal Government

The Federal Government has made a declaration that Boko Haram terrorists have been significantly weakened, with their capabilities greatly diminished, and the country's security situation is witnessing notable improvements, according to Senator George Akume, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.

Senator Akume made this assertion on Tuesday in Abuja when he met with members of the Renewed Hope Fulbe Campaign Organisation at his office, where he expressed optimism about the nation's security outlook.

According to Yomi Odunuga, the Spokesman of the SGF, the combination of sustained military operations and non-kinetic measures has led to a substantial reduction in the capacity of terrorist elements, resulting in sporadic and ineffective attacks.

The SGF noted that visible security improvements are already evident, and the Federal Government is further bolstering the nation's defence architecture through the procurement of additional arms and ammunition, as well as enhanced operational strategies by security agencies.

Senator Akume voiced his confidence that the current security challenges facing the country are temporary and will eventually subside, stating "The problems we are having are temporary problems that will certainly go away, as things are already beginning to pick up".

The Renewed Hope Fulbe Campaign Organisation, led by its National Coordinator, Hon. Abdullahi Ahmad Tibbo, declared its full support for President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima ahead of the 2027 general election, pledging to mobilise Fulani pastoralist communities across Nigeria to deliver votes for the administration.

The group, which aims to galvanise its base at the grassroots level nationwide, cited several policy initiatives as reasons for its alignment with the administration, including the Student Loan Scheme and the creation of the Federal Ministry of Livestock.

Hon. Abdullahi Ahmad Tibbo stated "We hereby declare that the Fulbe are fully behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima for a second term, and we will galvanise our people to deliver massive support at the polls".

The organisation appealed for formal recognition as a strategic mobilisation partner and requested logistical support, including vehicles and motorcycles, to enhance its outreach across remote pastoral settlements.
