Birnin Gwari Road Project: Uba Sani Set to Surpass His Own Achievement, Says KADRA Managing Director

Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State is poised to surpass his own record with the completion of the 36km Bagoma-Gagumi road project in Birnin Gwari local government, outdoing the previously commissioned Gadan Gayan-Gwaraji-Kujama road in February.

The project's significance was underscored by the Managing Director of Kaduna State Roads Agency, Dr. Abdullahi Baba Ahmed, who described Governor Sani's rural transformation efforts as revolutionary during an inspection visit to the site.

In February, Governor Sani had commissioned a 35km road stretching across Igabi, Kajuru, and Chikun local governments, which included a 130-metre bridge over River Kaduna, serving several rural communities.

Dr. Baba Ahmed revealed that the Bagoma-Gagumi road will set a new record, benefiting 66 farming communities across Birnin Gwari local government upon completion, linking farmers to markets, residents to schools and hospitals, and significantly impacting the local economy.

According to Dr. Baba Ahmed, the road will greatly improve the transportation of produce and boost economic growth in Birnin Gwari, one of Nigeria's leading maize-producing local governments.

The 66 farming communities will also have better access to markets, schools, and healthcare, including better job opportunities, as a result of the Bagoma-Gagumi road project.

The project is part of Governor Uba Sani's broader initiative to build 1,345 kilometers of roads across 20 local government areas, with 150 projects launched and 66 completed so far, according to the Managing Director of KADRA.

The road is being constructed by CGC Nigeria Limited, a major construction firm specializing in infrastructure projects like roads, bridges, and water supply, with the contractor promising to deliver ahead of schedule.

CGC Northern Regional Manager, Mr. Wang Hongxi, disclosed that the company has mobilized more workers and is working around the clock to ensure timely completion of the project, which is expected to be finished by the end of the year.

Residents of Bagoma and Gagumi communities have expressed hope that the 36-kilometer road will improve their lives and create economic opportunities, transforming the area into a hub of activity.

Alhaji Musa Bagoma, a resident of the area, expressed gratitude to Governor Uba Sani for his commitment to improving their infrastructure, which had been in a state of disrepair for years.

Local trader Alhaji Dangajere Gagumi stated that the road will change their lives, enabling them to transport goods to the market more easily and allowing children to attend school without worrying about the rough terrain.

Mallam Ibrahim Mande attested that Governor Uba Sani's administration is truly committed to improving the lives of rural dwellers, with the road serving as a testament to that commitment.
