During an appearance on the Creativtea Podcast, Beverly Osu reflected on her childhood, disclosing that she was raised in Lagos and had a strong Catholic upbringing.

She recounted her early life, stating "I grew up in Lagos, in Surulere, and from Surulere I moved to Yaba, Ojuelegba, identifying herself as a true Lagos native.

Beverly Osu attended Daughters Of Divine Love Juniorate in Enugu and at one point considered pursuing a career as a Reverend Sister, saying "I was meant to be a Reverend Sister, it was a path she had genuinely considered.

She explained that her desire to become a Reverend Sister stemmed from her admiration for the discipline and appearance of priests and Reverend Sisters, noting "I love how they dress, and their neatness, which resonated with her own meticulous nature.

Beverly Osu addressed a past photoshoot where she dressed as a Reverend Sister, which generated significant conversation and criticism on social media, explaining that her Catholic background was authentic and that people often misinterpret her actions.

She stated "I grew up in a very Catholic-oriented home, and her actions were not intended to be controversial, but rather a form of artistic expression, saying "it was just arty".

Beverly Osu emphasized that she has never acted with the intention of creating controversy, saying "I have never meant any harm, and she has never done anything with the mindset to be controversial.

She expressed that she is simply being herself, and that people often label her as controversial without justification, saying "I just came across the word ‘controversial’, and people say I am controversial, but I am just being me".
