Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed has dropped two of his commissioners from the State Executive Council less than a year before the end of his administration while nominating their replacements to the State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation.

Mohammed’s media aide, Mukhtar Gidado, in a statement on Friday, said that the move was part of the administration’s “continuous efforts to strengthen governance and enhance service delivery across the state.”

He said that the affected aides are Commissioner for Commerce, Industries and Investment, Mohammed Salis Gamawa, and the immediate past Commissioner for Education, who was subsequently reassigned to the Ministry of Power, Science and Technology, Dr. Mohammed Lawal Rimin Zayam.

He said they are to exit the State Executive Council with immediate effect. “The Governor has also accepted the resignation of the former Commissioner for Rural Development and Special Duties, Hon. Faruk Mustapha.

“In line with the administration’s commitment to ensuring continuity and efficiency in governance, the names of their proposed replacements, alongside those of other nominees intended to fill vacancies created by the earlier exit of some commissioners, have been forwarded to the Bauchi State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation,” Gidado said.

Mohammed expressed appreciation to the outgoing commissioners for their dedicated service, commitment, and valuable contributions to the development of Bauchi State during their tenure.

“He wished them continued success in their future endeavours and reaffirmed his administration’s resolve to build a more responsive, effective, and results-oriented government for the benefit of the people of the state,” the statement said.
