Comrade Shehu Sani, a former Senator representing Kaduna Central and a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has labelled the support for former presidential candidate Peter Obi as a spectacle driven by tribal sentiments, and is convinced that President Bola Tinubu will secure re-election in the 2027 elections.

n

Sani voiced this opinion during a recent appearance on “The Honest Bunch Podcast,” where he was joined by human rights activist Deji Adeyanju for a discussion on the state of the nation and its leadership.

n

In his defence of the APC-led government, Sani stated that the backing for Peter Obi is essentially a form of theatre, with many supporters hailing from his ethnic background, and asserted that even if Obi were to become President, the status quo would remain unchanged.

n

Sani further argued that the opposition is not distinct from the ruling party, positing that Nigerians are being deceived by rehashed narratives, and that most political leaders share a similar ideological outlook.

n

He elaborated on this point by noting that key figures such as Obi, Obasanjo, Atiku, and Tinubu all hail from the same ideological perspective and possess similar political views.

n

Sani concluded by predicting that Tinubu will emerge victorious in the 2027 elections, and wryly observed that the choice facing voters is essentially between two unpalatable options, likening it to a decision between Satan and the devil.
