Authorities Set Record Straight: Embattled Legislator Hon Ovat Agbor Received Invitation, Not Taken into Custody

The Cross River State Police Command has provided clarification regarding the situation of Hon. Ovat Agbor, stating that he was not taken into custody, but rather invited for questioning in relation to allegations of domestic violence involving his spouse.

Following the invitation, Agbor presented himself at the designated location, accompanied by his wife, as confirmed by Police Public Relations Officer ASP Sunday Eitokpah in a statement issued on Monday.

During their interaction with the authorities, both Agbor and his wife expressed a willingness to work towards resolving their differences, according to the information provided by Eitokpah.

As a result of the engagement, Agbor has been released into the care of a trustworthy individual, as stated by Eitokpah, who also noted that the case files will be forwarded to the Office of the Attorney-General for further guidance once the ongoing investigation is concluded.
