Authorities reopen PDP's national office, now under control of Wike's supporters

The Nigeria Police Force has relinquished control of the Peoples’ Democratic Party's National Secretariat, located at Wadata Plaza, Zone 5, Abuja, as well as Legacy House in Maitama, restoring authority to the party's National Chairman, Hon. Abdulrahman Takushara, and National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, in accordance with court directives.

This move brings an end to a prolonged and intense standoff over the party's headquarters, signaling the Nyesom Wike-aligned leadership's successful reclamation of control, both legally and physically, following a period of internal strife.

The PDP National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Jungudo Haruna Mohammed, confirmed the development in a statement issued on Saturday, outlining the details of the police's actions.

According to Jungudo, the police's decision to unseal the National Secretariat and Legacy House, handing them over to the National Chairman and Senator Samuel Anyanwu, demonstrates the force's commitment to upholding court orders and respecting the rule of law.

The party has commended the Nigeria Police Force for its professional conduct and adherence to due process, viewing this action as a testament to the force's respect for constitutional order.

However, the party has also issued a stern warning, emphasizing that it will not tolerate any actions that could lead to obstruction, disruption, or a breach of peace at the secretariat, and has alerted security agencies to take action against any violators.

The PDP believes that this development should reassure its members that the crisis has been effectively resolved, and is urging all aggrieved factions to put aside their differences and unite in the best interests of the party.
