ATTENTION: PRESIDENCY, DELTA STATE GOVERNMENT, NATIONAL SECURITY ADVISER (NSA), AND THE NIGERIA POLICE FORCE

I, Chief Inko Brightstar a.k.a. Whoknows Tomorrow, National Publicity Secretary, Presidential Amnesty Programme, Third Phase, hereby raise an urgent alarm over the recent attack on an Ijaw youth who was shot by Itsekiri people, allegedly at the directive of the Olu of Itsekiri.

This act is not only condemnable but also capable of provoking retaliatory violence, which could escalate into a wider ethnic conflict if not urgently addressed. The question is: must the Ijaws retaliate before the government acts?

I therefore call on:

Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, Governor of Delta State

The National Security Adviser (NSA)

The Nigeria Police Force

…to take immediate and decisive action to investigate this matter, bring the perpetrators to justice, and ensure the protection of lives and property in the affected communities.

The Ijaw people are peace-loving, but no group should be pushed into self-defense as a result of government inaction. The time to act is NOW in order to prevent avoidable bloodshed and to sustain peace and stability in the Niger Delta.
