Atiku denounces brutal attacks, kidnapping of more than 100 innocent residents in Borno village

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has vehemently denounced the brutal killings and abduction of over 100 individuals by suspected Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists in Ngoshe village, Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State.

In a statement posted on his verified Facebook account on Friday, Atiku expressed his deep concern over the attack, which targeted a military base and an Internally Displaced Persons camp in Ngoshe, resulting in the abduction of numerous citizens.

The former Vice President found the attack to be deeply troubling, and even more disturbing was the apparent lack of concern displayed by the Federal Government towards this incident and similar attacks that preceded it.

The widespread surge in violence and killings across the country has led to a sense of numbness among both the government and society, according to Atiku, who believes that the bloodshed resulting from these assaults has become all too familiar.

Atiku criticized the current Federal Government, stating that it seems to be losing control of the fight against terrorism and violent attacks, and instead appears to be focused on exerting pressure on political opponents and supporting self-serving ethnic militia groups.

The former Vice President lamented that those responsible for internal security, along with the ruling party's elite, are preoccupied with consolidating power while innocent civilians and servicemen are being killed, leaving them vulnerable to attack.

Atiku expressed his sympathy for the families of the victims of the Ngoshe attack, while also conveying his strong indignation at the government's evident lack of empathy towards the victims of these increasingly frequent assaults.

As the chieftain of the African Democratic Congress, Atiku voiced his condemnation of the government's response to the attack, emphasizing the need for a more effective and compassionate approach to addressing the plight of those affected by terrorism and violence.
