Felix Morka, the National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has played down the significance of the coalition within the African Democratic Congress (ADC), labeling its key figures as ineffectual in the political sphere despite their impressive individual backgrounds.

Morka, speaking on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics, asserted that the APC has no reason to feel threatened by the opposition alliance, emphasizing that its members lack the capacity to pose a serious challenge to the ruling party.

He specifically mentioned Atiku Abubakar, Rotimi Amaechi, and Rauf Aregbesola as examples of prominent figures in the coalition, arguing that their past achievements do not necessarily translate to current influence.

Morka likened the collective impact of these figures to "twinkle, twinkle, little stars", suggesting that despite their individual stature, they are making no significant impact when combined.

The APC spokesperson also dismissed claims by the ADC that the APC is interfering in its internal affairs, challenging the opposition party to provide evidence to support their allegations.

Morka questioned the rationale behind the APC being fearful of the ADC, citing the APC's consistent election wins since 2023 and labeling the ADC as a "non-starter" and "almost as good as non-existent".

He called on the ADC to furnish Nigerians with evidence of the APC's alleged complicity in their predicament, emphasizing that the APC has nothing to fear from the ADC.

Morka attributed the crisis within the ADC to internal failings, suggesting that the party's challenges are self-inflicted and that the ADC may be "self-sabotaging" based on the nature of their mistakes.

The APC spokesperson further criticized opposition figures, including Peter Obi, accusing them of instability and a tendency to create chaos across different political platforms.

He noted that these individuals have a history of failing to manage the affairs of their previous parties and instead use a "revolving door" to move to new parties, causing further chaos and blaming the ruling party.

Morka's comments come amid a deepening leadership crisis in the ADC, following the Independent National Electoral Commission's decision to withdraw recognition of a faction led by former Senate President David Mark.
