Armed robbers leave three dead, 11 wounded in Katsina, according to authorities

A confirmation has been made by the Katsina State Police Command that a bandit attack on Jikamashi town in Musawa Local Government Area resulted in the deaths of three people and injuries to 11 others.

The statement confirming the incident was made by the Command's Public Relations Officer, DSP Aliyu Abubakar, on Wednesday in Katsina.

According to DSP Abubakar, a distress call was received at Musawa Division on March 10 at approximately 6:05 p.m., reporting an attack by suspected bandits armed with dangerous weapons on Jikamashi village in Musawa LGA.

The bandits injured a total of 14 people before the arrival of security agencies, as stated by DSP Abubakar.

A joint team of security agencies, led by the DPO Musawa, responded promptly to the scene after receiving the report and engaged the bandits in a gun duel, successfully thwarting the attack.

The injured victims were immediately taken to the nearest hospital for medical attention, where three of them were later confirmed dead by the doctor on duty, while 11 are receiving treatment.

DSP Abubakar also stated that the Commissioner of Police, Mr Bello Shehu, denounced the attack and ordered a thorough investigation into the incident to apprehend the perpetrators.
