Armed assailants slaughter six people, including a family of five, in latest Plateau violence

Tragedy has unfolded in the Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State, where a late-night invasion by gunmen in the Nding community resulted in the loss of six lives, including an entire family of five, as reported by Golok Nanmwa in JOS.
nThe attack, which took place at approximately 9 p.m. on Tuesday, has significantly escalated fear among residents, who are increasingly concerned about the recurring attacks in parts of the state.
nA community member, Weng Christopher, recounted the events of the attack to a correspondent, stating that the assailants stormed the area and opened fire on unsuspecting victims without warning.
nAccording to Christopher, five members of the same family were killed instantly, while another resident of the community also fell victim to the attack, further highlighting the severity of the incident.
nChristopher expressed his distress over the increasing frequency of such incidents, describing the situation as alarming and a source of constant fear for residents, saying "This is becoming too frequent, people are living in constant fear).
nThe Publicity Secretary of Berom Youth Moulders, Rwang Tengwong, confirmed the killings and strongly condemned the attack, calling for immediate intervention by security agencies to address the situation.
nTengwong also disclosed that an attempted attack on the Rim community in Riyom Local Government Area by gunmen was successfully repelled by local vigilantes and personnel of Operation Rainbow, the state-owned security outfit.
nTengwong described the series of attacks as unacceptable, urging authorities to intensify their efforts to protect lives and property across Plateau State, emphasizing the need for urgent action to be taken.
