APC takes disciplinary action against Dagogo for reportedly engaging in actions against party interests

The All Progressives Congress, APC, has taken disciplinary action against one of its chieftains, Mr Fubara Dagogo, due to allegations of severe misconduct and activities deemed detrimental to the party's interests.

This decision was made by the leadership of Ward 4, New Layout, in Bonny Local Government Area, Rivers State, and was announced through a suspension letter dated March 16.

The letter, which was jointly signed by party Chairman Mr Richard Ibani Benstowe and Secretary Donald Jumbo, outlined the grounds for Dagogo's suspension, citing specific breaches of the party's constitution.

According to Chairman Benstowe, Dagogo's actions were in direct conflict with Article 21.2 (I), (II), and (VII) of the APC Constitution of 2022 as amended, and had brought ridicule upon the party, contravening its constitution in the process.

Benstowe stated that Dagogo's behavior, including making unguarded statements and demeaning party leaders, was a clear contravention of the party's rules and regulations, and had resulted in his indefinite suspension from the APC.

The suspension notice, which was read aloud by Benstowe in a video posted on social media, also highlighted Dagogo's disobedience and negligence in carrying out lawful party directives.

Furthermore, the notice emphasized that Dagogo's suspension was a result of his refusal to abide by party decisions, despite previous warnings to desist from actions that could embarrass the party.

The party's leadership has urged the state secretary to endorse the resolution and take necessary actions, with the suspension taking effect immediately.

The suspension is reportedly linked to Dagogo's lawsuit against the party, which stems from his exclusion from contesting the office of National Vice Chairman (South South) of the party.

Dagogo had paid N5.1 million for the nomination form but was still excluded from contesting the office at the regional convention held on Wednesday.

It is understood that Dagogo's determination to seek justice and his refusal to back down from his claims led to the suspension, which was seen as a response to his push for justice within the party.
