APC Primary: Osogbo Party Faithful Erupt in Celebration as Adegoke and ITK Secure Nominations

In a show of excitement, members of the All Progressives Congress in Osogbo, the capital of Osun State, took to the major roads on Tuesday to celebrate the emergence of Kunle Adegoke, SAN, and Ibrahim Taofeek, also known as ITK, as the party's candidates for the Senate and House of Representatives, respectively.

The celebration came after the duo secured the senatorial and House of Representatives tickets of the APC in the recently concluded primaries in the state, marking a significant milestone for the party.

The jubilation rally was led by former Commissioner for Environment and Sanitation, Sola Oladepo, who spearheaded the procession from Osogbo Township Stadium to Freedom Park via Old Garage, where the festivities eventually came to an end.

According to Oladepo, this marks the first time that indigenes of the state capital have emerged as candidates for both the Senate and House of Representatives, a feat that has never been achieved before.

Oladepo revealed that the decision to embark on the jubilation rally was a collective one among residents and APC members, aimed at expressing gratitude to God for the choice of candidates for both the House of Representatives and the Senate.

He commended the primary process, describing it as transparent, free, and fair, which unusually favored Osogbo, and noted that the party has never had a situation where Osogbo and Olurunda produced Senate and House of Representatives candidates at the same time.

Oladepo expressed confidence that the APC will receive a bloc vote from these councils, stating that the party is prepared for the upcoming elections to ensure victory in the August 15th, 2026, and 2027 general elections.

Yetunde Salami, the leader of the ITK Foundation, also weighed in on the celebration, stating that the gathering was in honor of Ibrahim Taofeek and Kunle Adegoke, SAN, for their emergence as the flagbearers of the APC for the House of Representatives and the Senate.

Salami praised the duo for their contributions to the development of the party in the two councils and beyond, noting that they have worked tirelessly to galvanize the party and fight for its cause at all times.
