APC praises Enugu House of Representatives primary polls for being transparent, credible and a model of excellence

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has praised the Enugu State chapter for conducting free, fair, credible, and exemplary House of Representatives primary elections, setting a high standard for the party.

This commendation comes as Governor Peter Mbah participated in the Owo Ward, Nkanu East LGA, where Hon. Nnolim Nnaji was affirmed as the party's House of Representatives candidate for the 2027 general elections, being the only aspirant in the primary election.

According to Hon. Solomon Funkekeme, Chairman of the APC House of Representatives Primary Elections in Enugu State, the primary elections in the monitored wards were satisfactory, with reports from other parts of the state also indicating a successful process.

Funkekeme noted that the Enugu State APC has demonstrated internal democracy, party cohesion, consensus-building, and commitment to the party's success, with the primary elections being a shining example of this.

He attributed the success to the leadership of Governor Peter Mbah and the State Executive, commending them for the peace and synergy witnessed during the elections.

Addressing party faithful in Owo Ward, Governor Mbah expressed gratitude for the large turnout and peaceful conduct, stating that this is a model of grassroots democracy and internal party democracy.

Mbah encouraged party members to take pride in their role in the democratic process, citing the APC as a representation of democracy in the country, and urged them to market the party's achievements and programmes ahead of the general elections.

He highlighted the APC's accomplishments at the national level, including the alleviation of macroeconomic pressures, allowing states and local governments to better serve their citizens.

Mbah emphasized the importance of supporting the APC in the upcoming elections, stating that the party has built foundations and laid the groundwork for progress, and that Nigerians must support the APC to complete the job.

He urged party members to be proactive in spreading the message of the APC's achievements and the benefits of supporting the party, rather than being passive or standing on the margins.

The state's party chairman, Dr. Martin Chukwunweike, and other party leaders joined the team from Abuja in monitoring the exercise at Owo and across the state.
