APC Chieftain, Inko Brightstar, Lauds Dickson’s “Bold Step” on LGA Creation, Urges United

A foremost Niger Delta ex-agitator and a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Gen. Inko Brightstar, popularly known as "Whoknows Tomorrow," has issued a strong commendation for Senator Henry Seriake Dickson over his recent advocacy for the creation of more Local Government Areas (LGAs) in Bayelsa State.

Chief WhoKnows Tomorrow described the move by the Senator representing Bayelsa West as a necessary and "bold step" towards correcting a long-standing inequity that has hindered the state's development and federal representation. He made the statement while reacting to Senator Dickson's presentation at the South-South Zonal Public Hearing on Constitutional Amendment held on July 4, 2025.

Quoted in a statement released to the press, Chief WhoKnows Tomorrow articulated that Bayelsa State has been unfairly disadvantaged for decades. "We must commend His Excellency, Senator Seriake Dickson, for his bold step in seeking the creation of more LGAs in Bayelsa State," he began. "For too long, our state has suffered a great disability and been short-changed. This is an effort to right a historical wrong, and it deserves the support of every true son and daughter of the Ijaw nation and the Niger Delta."

The APC chieftain underscored the economic paradox of Bayelsa's situation, noting its crucial role in national prosperity. "Bayelsa State is the home of the wealth of the Nation. It is the base of oil production which constitutes a significant portion of the Nigerian economy," he stated. "It is therefore unacceptable that the goose that lays the golden eggs is left with only eight local government areas. This is a clear case of neglect."

Drawing a sharp comparison to illustrate the disparity, Chief Brightstar pointed to other states with more favourable structures despite smaller geographical footprints. "Bayelsa has a vast landmass, larger than many states that have triple our number of LGAs. Look at a state like Lagos with a lesser landmass but significantly more local governments. This inequity is a slap on the face of the Ijaw people, who are feeding the nation," he lamented.

In a powerful call for unity that transcends party lines, Chief WhoKnows Tomorrow urged all federal lawmakers from Bayelsa State to rally behind Senator Dickson's initiative. He stressed that the objective is a matter of collective interest for the state and should not be politicized.

"I am calling on all our federal lawmakers, in both the Senate and the House of Representatives, to join forces with His Excellency, Senator Dickson, and ensure that this bill succeeds," he urged. "This is not a party affair; it is a Bayelsa affair. They must put the interest of our people first and work in unison to see this through."

In conclusion, Chief WhoKnows Tomorrow extended his appeal to the entire National Assembly, asking them to view the proposed constitutional amendment as a matter of justice and national equity. He expressed confidence that a united front from Bayelsa's leaders would compel the rest of the country to recognize the legitimacy of the demand and act accordingly to give Bayelsa State its rightful number of local government areas.
