Americans visiting Nigeria must now file visa requests directly at the embassy, as outside processing services are discontinued

The Nigeria Immigration Service has abruptly ended its partnership with Online Integrated Solutions, a third-party vendor that handled Nigerian visa applications in the United States, thereby requiring applicants to submit their documents directly to Nigerian diplomatic missions from now on.

This sudden change follows the previous arrangement where OIS Services was responsible for managing the collection and processing of visa applications across its various centers in the US.

A statement issued by NIS Public Relations Officer Akinsola Akinlabi on Thursday confirmed the termination of the contract with immediate effect, without providing any reason for the decision.

According to Akinlabi, individuals seeking Nigerian visas must now submit their applications at the Nigerian embassy in Washington, DC, or at the consulates in New York and Atlanta, effective immediately.

Akinlabi has assured the public that the embassy and consulates have put in place necessary measures to ensure a seamless transition, guaranteeing that visa submissions, processing, and approvals will continue uninterrupted.

Applicants have been advised to keep a close watch on official communication channels of both the NIS and Nigerian missions in the US for any updates regarding visa application guidelines.
