America and Israel launch attack on Iran's five key oil installations, resulting in four fatalities

Airstrikes conducted by the United States and Israel overnight have resulted in significant damage to five oil-related facilities in and around Tehran, Iran's capital, with a reported death toll of four people, as stated by an Iranian official.

The extent of the damage was disclosed by Keramat Veyskarami, the Chief Executive Officer of the National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company, during a Sunday interview with state television.

Veyskarami specified that the targets of the strikes included four oil depots and a petroleum products transport centre, all located in Tehran and the adjacent Alborz province.

In his statement, Veyskarami explained that "enemy aircraft" attacked the facilities, which comprised "four oil depots and a petroleum products transport centre in Tehran and Alborz" on the previous night.

The attack claimed the lives of four personnel, including two oil tanker drivers, and caused damage to several facilities, although emergency teams successfully contained the resulting fires, according to Veyskarami.

As a consequence of the overnight fires, a dark haze hung over Tehran on Sunday morning, while many residents reported a strong smell of burning in the air.

Despite the damage inflicted by the strikes, Veyskarami assured that Iran's gasoline reserves remain sufficient to meet the country's needs.

The latest attack occurred amidst an ongoing conflict that began on February 28, when the United States and Israel launched strikes on Iran, reportedly resulting in the death of Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, and triggering a wider war in the Middle East.
