This declaration was made during the Kogi Central Peoples Democratic Party Stakeholders’ Meeting, which brought together party leaders and supporters to discuss the future of the party in the district.

In a statement released by her media team in Abuja on Monday, Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan revealed that her decision to seek re-election was influenced by months of appeals and endorsements from across the five local government areas of Kogi Central.

She stated, "After due consultations and encouragement from my husband, I have accepted your calls to re-contest for a second term as your senator," indicating a strong desire to continue serving her constituents.

Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan's declaration comes amid a surge of endorsements from party faithful and community leaders over the past four months, underscoring the strong grassroots support for her candidacy.

She emphasized the need for unity within the Peoples Democratic Party, urging stakeholders to prioritize reconciliation and inclusiveness ahead of future elections, saying "This is the time to bring everyone back home.

Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan further stressed the importance of reconciliation, noting "We must reconcile with those who may have had issues, for the betterment of our party and success in the elections ahead."
