Air campaign by NAF strikes and weakens terrorist forces

Airstrikes conducted by the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) have resulted in the destruction of terrorist hideouts in the Southern Tumbuns area of Borno, according to a statement issued by Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the Director of Public Relations and Information of the NAF, on Saturday in Abuja.

The operation, which took place on Friday at approximately 1850 hours, targeted the known terrorist enclave of Ali Sheriffti, following the receipt of credible intelligence regarding insurgent activities in the area.

During the operation, NAF air assets carried out a thorough surveillance sweep, spotting several insurgents moving along concealed tracks, who were then trailed to structures hidden under dense foliage.

After positively identifying the targets, the NAF executed a precise strike, engaging the structures with onboard munitions and achieving the desired outcome, with the destruction of terrorist structures and a further degradation of their capability and freedom of movement in the area.

The success of the strike highlights the NAF's ongoing commitment to intelligence-led and precision-driven operations aimed at denying terrorists safe havens, as emphasized by Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame.

According to Ejodame, the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, has reaffirmed the force's resolve to sustain pressure on terrorist networks, with operations set to continue with increased intensity to safeguard the nation and its citizens.

The Nigerian Air Force, as stated by Ejodame, will persist in pursuing and dismantling terrorist networks with precision and relentless force, ensuring that no terrorist enclave remains beyond its reach.
