Nigerian music star Adekunle Gold has officially been unveiled as the Nigerian Brand Ambassador for The Macallan, marking a new milestone in his decade-long journey of artistic excellence and cultural influence.

The award-winning singer, songwriter and performer celebrated the partnership on Thursday night at an exclusive dinner hosted at Vici, Victoria Island, Lagos, where he reflected on the years of dedication, perseverance and craftsmanship that have defined his career.

Speaking during the intimate gathering, Adekunle Gold described the collaboration as a fitting recognition of a journey built on patience and hard work.

“Tonight is about gratitude. It has been a long time coming. I took the stairs, I did the work, and it is incredible to see that the time and hard work have chosen to become forever,” he said.

The invitation-only event welcomed about 50 guests, including some of Nigeria’s leading figures in entertainment and the creative industry such as Simi Kosoko, Bovi, Ladipoe, Teniola Aladese, Enioluwa Adeoluwa, Kaylah Oniwo, Tomike Adeoye, Ugo Mozie and Dotun Kayode.

The evening began with a live four-piece string quartet and a specially curated The Macallan cocktail experience before guests were treated to a three-course gourmet dinner paired with guided whisky tastings.

At the centre of the celebration was Adekunle Gold’s story of transformation—from his early days as an emerging artiste known simply as “Gold” to becoming one of Africa’s most respected contemporary musicians. During a fireside chat, he spoke candidly about the challenges, sacrifices and defining moments that shaped his career.

Drawing parallels between the maturation of a premium single malt whisky and the evolution of a creative career, Adekunle Gold noted that true excellence requires patience, consistency and an unwavering commitment to one’s craft.
