Abia State Authorities Advise Sowore to Back Down Following Criticism of Otti

The Abia State Government has issued a stern rebuke to Omoyele Sowore, the former AAC presidential candidate, stating that he has "miscalculated" and should reconsider his stance, following his criticism of Governor Alex Otti.

Sowore had recently visited Aba to protest for the release of IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu, during which he described Governor Otti's administration as a "failure" that is practicing "half transformation".

In a response to Sowore's allegations, the government, through Media Adviser Ferdinand Ekeoma, characterized the claims as "false and reckless", noting that they have sparked widespread backlash and criticism.

According to the government, they had initially chosen to ignore Sowore's comments, but his repeated distortions and criticisms made a formal response necessary, prompting them to address the allegations directly.

The government denied any close ties between Sowore and Governor Otti, and also refuted allegations that the governor uses his platform to attack others, raising questions about Sowore's true motives and intentions.

The statement queried why Sowore had chosen to focus his attack on Governor Otti, rather than emphasizing the intended message of the protest, and also questioned why he had selected Aba as the location for his protest, rather than Umuahia or Sokoto.

The government also addressed claims of sponsored support, stating that Governor Otti enjoys "organic support" from the people, rather than relying on paid influence or manipulation.

Furthermore, the statement emphasized that Governor Otti has never claimed to have achieved "total transformation", but noted that the progress made by his administration is evident and clear for all to see.

Ultimately, the government warned Sowore against exhibiting "arrogance and false superiority", stating that he has "clearly targeted the wrong person" in his criticism of Governor Otti.
