Abducted ECWA Board of Trustees chairman secures release

Rev. Sunday Bobai Agang, a renowned pastor of the Evangelical Church Winning All and chairman of its Board of Trustees, has been freed after being kidnapped from his home in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State.

Confirmation of his release came from Danjuma Auta, the acting public relations officer of the Evangelical Church Winning All, who spoke to our correspondent in Jos.

In a statement, Auta revealed that Rev. Prof. Agang has been set free by his captors and is now safe, prompting the church to express its gratitude and joy at the news.

The statement from the church read: “We wish to announce with immense gratitude and joy the release of our dear pastor, Rev. Prof. Sunday Bobai Agang, who was abducted by unknown gunmen,” and further confirmed that he has regained his freedom and is currently safe.

The Evangelical Church Winning All thanked God for answering the prayers of its members and the global Church of Christ, describing the release as a demonstration of God's faithfulness and the power of collective prayer.

The church also appreciated the support of its members who prayed during the difficult period, while noting that Rev. Agang's ordeal highlights the persistent insecurity in the country.

The church's statement further emphasized that the rising trend of kidnapping poses a threat to the collective existence of Nigerians and must be addressed urgently.

The Evangelical Church Winning All called on the government to fulfill its primary responsibility of protecting the lives and properties of all Nigerians.

The church urged the government to take decisive action to dismantle the networks behind these crimes and restore peace and security across the country.
