A Federal High Court on Friday ordered immediate reinstatement of Sen.Natasha Akpoti Uduaghan.

The federal High Court in Abuja today has ruled that the suspension of senator Natasha was extreme. Yes the senate can punish an erring member but 6 months is excessive. The Court ruled that the Legislative House (Powers and Privileges) Act did not prescribe any duration of suspension (this one means say, the law dey faulty, because any law that prohibits a behavior must define the behavior and prescribes punishment). Finally the Court ordered that Senator Natasha be allowed to go about her legislative duty to her constituency, this one is good abi?

The Court also fined senator Natasha N5,000,000 (Five million naira) only for contempt, remember that the Court ordered both parties not to make any further comment with regards to this matter until it is decided by the Court but no na, Senator Natasha published a mockery apology (we must refrain from disobeying an order of Court no matter the provocation). There are two types of contempt and they are 1. Contempt in Facie Curiae (Contempt in the face of the court 2. Contempt Ex Facie: (contempt outside the court)

The contempt by senator Natasha is one outside the Court, the fine is to teach others that the court is serious and cannot be taken for a ride, it is in the interest of the Court and public that the orders and directive of Courts are obeyed. Finally congrats to senator Natasha, we hope that the senate will not disobey and be in contempt of Court itself.
