2Baba dazzles crowd at Vanguard Personality of the Year Awards ceremony

The Vanguard Personality of the Year Awards 2025 was treated to a mesmerizing show by Nigerian music legend 2Baba, who took to the stage at the esteemed Eko Hotels and Suites in Lagos on Friday.
nThis annual event, which brings together the country's most prominent figures from various fields, including politics, business, entertainment, and humanitarian work, was held at the prestigious venue, attracting a large and influential crowd.
nAs 2Baba began to perform, the atmosphere in the room shifted, with the singer's enduring presence and effortless style captivating the audience's attention and drawing them in.
nThe iconic musician's set featured a selection of his most beloved classic hits, which sparked enthusiastic cheers and sing-alongs from the guests, creating a lively and celebratory atmosphere.
nThe Vanguard Personality of the Year Awards aims to recognize and honour Nigerians who have made significant contributions to the country's development and social progress, with this year's ceremony being no exception.
nTop honours at the event went to Alhaji Sayyu Idris Dantata, Founder of MRS Holdings, and Minister of Interior, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, who were recognized for their outstanding contributions to the energy sector and public service, respectively.
nA number of governors were also acknowledged for their leadership, including Uba Sani of Kaduna, Nasir Idris of Kebbi, Mai Mala Buni of Yobe, Bassey Otu of Cross River, Agbu Kefas of Taraba, and Dauda Lawal of Zamfara.
nOther notable awardees included Dr. Osahon Okunbo, who was named Young Entrepreneur of the Year, and a group of respected individuals, comprising Jim Ovia, Matthew Kukah, Vincent Maduka, Jim Nwobodo, and Bruce Onobrakpeya, who received Lifetime Achievement awards.
nFestus Keyamo was recognized as Public Sector Icon of the Year, while Vicky Haastrup, Stephen Akintayo, and Alfred Temile also received awards in various categories, rounding out the list of distinguished honourees.
