2027: Otuaro Urges Support For Tinubu For Sustainable Development, Peace, Stability In Nig

The Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), Dr. Dennis Otuaro, has called on stakeholders across the Niger Delta to sustain the region’s current peace and remain steadfast in their support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.

Dr. Otuaro made this appeal on Wednesday during a three-day strategic training on leadership, alternative dispute resolution, and mediation, organized by the Presidential Amnesty Programme in collaboration with the Nigerian Army Resource Centre in Abuja.

The call was contained in a statement signed by Mr. Igoniko Oduma, Special Assistant on Media to the PAP Administrator.

Otuaro emphasized that maintaining peace and consolidating on the region's stability are essential to fostering socio-economic growth and development across Niger Delta communities, in line with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

He assured the people that President Tinubu remains committed to the peace, development, and security of the region, stressing that the president’s post-election actions have demonstrated sincerity and genuine concern, rather than political appeasement.

“By his actions since becoming president, Tinubu has shown that he is one leader who cannot deceive the people of the Niger Delta for political gains,” Otuaro declared.

The PAP boss explained that the strategic capacity-building programme was part of his commitment to broaden stakeholder involvement in PAP’s initiatives and to align with President Tinubu’s vision for impactful governance across the Niger Delta.

Reflecting on PAP’s progress over the past year, Otuaro highlighted key achievements including the expansion of the scholarship scheme, increased vocational training for former agitators, and enhanced inclusivity in programme implementation.

Declaring the training open, Otuaro told participants that the exercise was designed to equip them with essential tools to play more critical roles in sustaining the region’s peace.

“Let me inform us that the objectives of this initiative align with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and his administration’s strong commitment to sustainable peace, security, socio-economic growth, and development of the Niger Delta and Nigeria as a whole,” he said.

He expressed gratitude to the president for approving the establishment of a Rehabilitation Unit within the programme—an essential component that was previously lacking.

“This new unit will help address key areas of the programme’s mandate. I urge all stakeholders to support President Tinubu and work resolutely with his administration to do more for the region in the years to come. He will not fail the Niger Delta,” Otuaro stated.

He also commended the Office of the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, for his support and oversight, which he credited for many of PAP’s recorded successes under his tenure.

Otuaro encouraged full participation from attendees and urged them to internalize lessons from the training to effectively manage conflicts and promote peace within their communities.

“This workshop is a platform designed to sharpen your leadership skills and deepen your understanding of conflict resolution and mediation to drive peace and development in our region,” he concluded.
