2027: ADC Leader Urges Atiku to Choose Amaechi as Vice-Presidential Candidate

A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress, Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, is advocating for the party's presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, to select former Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, as his running mate in the forthcoming 2027 general election.
nEze's endorsement of Amaechi stems from the latter's extensive political experience and pivotal role in past electoral victories, which he believes make him an invaluable asset for the vice-presidential slot.
nAmaechi's capabilities were underscored by Eze, who cited his successful management of the campaign that unseated a sitting President, Goodluck Jonathan, as a testament to his exceptional abilities.
nEze posits that Amaechi's impressive leadership credentials, robust political structure, and broad support base render him an ideal candidate for the role of vice-presidential running mate.
nHe cautioned that overlooking Amaechi for the position could have severe repercussions on the party's shared vision, and might even alienate some supporters within the ADC.
nIn a statement released on Wednesday, Eze praised Atiku for his efforts to unify the party following its presidential primary, characterizing his outreach to former rivals as a demonstration of leadership and inclusiveness.
nAtiku's visits to his main contenders for the ADC presidential ticket, including Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi and Alhaji Hayatu-Deen, were seen by Eze as a clear indication of his commitment to being a team player.
nEze noted that Atiku's emergence as the party's flagbearer is a reflection of his long-standing dedication to democratic governance and national development, and that his experience will likely inspire confidence among Nigerians seeking stability and progress.
