Jos – Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State has extended warm congratulations to Muslims in the state, across Nigeria, and globally on the successful completion of Ramadan and the celebration of Eid-el-Fitr.
In a statement released Wednesday by his Director of Press and Public Affairs, Gyang Bere, the governor highlighted the values exemplified during the holy month, including sacrifice, discipline, submission to God, love, charity, tolerance, and unity. He urged the Muslim community to carry these virtues beyond the festivities.
Mutfwang commended the dedication of the Muslim Ummah to peaceful coexistence in Plateau State and described Eid-el-Fitr as an opportunity to reinforce faith and collective harmony.
“I heartily rejoice with the Muslim Ummah on this special occasion, which reminds us of the virtues of sacrifice and total submission to the will of God Almighty. As you celebrate, I encourage everyone to reflect on the values of love, charity, and selflessness, and to work collectively towards building a more united, peaceful, and prosperous Plateau State,” he said.
The governor called on Muslims to pray for Nigeria’s leaders, seeking divine wisdom and guidance to ensure responsive and people-centered governance. He also charged Plateau State-sponsored Hajj pilgrims to serve as exemplary ambassadors and to intercede in prayers for lasting peace, unity, and progress in the state and nation.
Reaffirming his administration’s focus on inclusivity, Mutfwang assured residents of continued efforts to safeguard lives and property, improve welfare, and foster sustainable development across communities.
He further appealed to all Nigerians, regardless of religion or ethnicity, to support initiatives that promote lasting peace, adherence to the rule of law, and economic and social development, while pledging targeted policies to address the needs of vulnerable groups and guarantee equitable opportunities for all.
